London Days

Welcome to our second ever blog. As most know, Lori and I are travelling to London to meet Hillary who has finished her study abroad program, then travel to Copenhagen, Stockholm and St. Petersburg. While we are excited, this trip will test our ability to move quickly from hotel to hotel, see sights, eat great food, take pictures, see lots of museums, then do it all over again. But it will be well worth it. The picture to the right is our first meal with Hillary after arriving in London. At our one of our favorite "cheaper" restaurants, Wagamama. Cheap is relative, although the British Pound is at the best rate we have ever seen. So....the trip begins....

This was one of Thursday's activities. Note the theme of food so far? This place was one of Hillary's great finds. They have killer grilled cheese sandwiches, sausage, cheese cake, and kangaroo. (that booth was unfortunately closed:(
The booth shown is the grilled cheese place. A delight that cannot be reproduced anywhere, anyhow.

Soup. A HUGE bowl of soup. Or more specifically chicken curry. I waited until the guy got close to the "bowl" to put perspective on it's humongous size. And it was very spicy. In fact, the guy behind the "dipper" was calling by cell to order more "go to _ _ _"sauce.

I begged them to let Lori and I do the next quote at Borough Market. Here's what I suggested..."We live in Naperville, but every time we come to London to visit Hillary, we come to the Borough Market. We even brought Lori's sister and mother last time, right after I dumped Marian out of her wheel chair at the Tower. That's how dedicated we are to Borough. Our daughter feels the same way. That's why she brings all her visitors to the Market. Please, please publish our comments." While they liked the part about the wheel chair, I believe Cynthia and Sheena's quote will stay.
